Scary enough it reminds me a bit of how I'm like when I'm bored haha

I miss dancing!

A couple of years back I used to dance street dance and hip hop. I got along really well with my dance teacher, who asked us if we wanted to be with in a music video. It was Melody Club's first video and so they couldn't afford a big budget, so they asked my dance teacher and her friends. I was just listening to the song, and it reminded me how much I miss dancing! Maybe I'll start again?

I'm the in the back row to the right, see if you can recognise me..even though its mostly silhouettes :P

Clearing out the studio

Today we began clearing out the studio. It felt a bit sad, but fun preparing for the third year show at the same time. we had to carry loads of tables and chairs, and then carry big boards which proved a tricky task!

Where are all the boys? haha it looks like the girls had to do all the hard work :p

Now its only three weeks until we hand in all our work, so its going to be intense!

The production of 'The Lemonade Stand'

Yesterday I filmed my self promo video. It was exciting, stressful and fun. I was a bit nervous that not enough people would turn up, but a few from my course and my house mates and their friends were nice enough to turn up. I also got a bit of help from the hockey team that were going to play on the pitch after us.

The kids were really cute and did great, so now I just have to wait to get all the material in on the computer so I can start editing!!

Freya, the film star and me :)

I'll put the video up as soon as its finished :)

Are we poor?

"Only financially" I was watching desperate housewives, and lynette answered her daugther's question. I liked that line.

Film Director?

Who knew organising stuff for films could be this tricky!! I think I must have chosen the hardest self promo  to produce!! I've sorted child actors, now I just need to get loads of people as extras!! I'm excited & scared!

Sunday, 18 April 2010

Had my uni assessment on thursday. Went really well! Still have a lot to do, though I was pleased with what my tutors said!

On saturday I'll be filming my self promo! I'm excited and scared at the same time. I've booked 3 cute kid actors from  the ages 7-8 from Stage Coach Agency. Hopefully everything will turn out well! Now I just need to fiddle with the props, and make sure loads of other extras come to help! :) So if anyone feels like being in a short self promo, you're welcome to come!

I will post the finished clip once I've finished editing it, ofcourse!

Keep you updated!

Sometimes its just nice to take it easy and relax. So Steph and I got out some movies, put on face masks and chilled out! Now I'm ready to roll! :)

High school reunion

Met up with a few friends that I used to go to high school with. I've met up with them before, but not all at once! Was really nice to catch up a bit..

As we live in a world of advertising, I thought this animation was really cool. It won the oscars and took 6 years to make!! I can understand why!

Our crazy night in London

First we go to mile end by tube to meet friends for predrinks. Then take taxi to Piccadilly to party. Stop at Holborn first take out cash. atm swallows Stephanie Avidan's card. Blonde girl decides to wait until that happens to come up to us and say that she used the same Atm and it did the same thing to her card just a minute ago. We stand in the cold and talk to Natwest service guy on the phone. Pointless conversation. Driver offers to drive us home for free. drives us back to mile end instead. We agree that there was a misunderstanding. He offers to drive us to the other end of London. We feel bad. Get off at Liverpool st. Wait for the bus for 20 minutes. Sit on the bus for 30. Get off at Oxford Circus. Buy Mcdonalds. Run to the bus. Almost sprain my ankle. Get on the bus. Sit on the bus for another 30 minutes. Speak Swedish to Steph. Guy that appears to have smoked far too much weed asks if we are speaking in English. We say "no, Swedish". He looks at us funny. We get off the bus. We walk. We get home. It feels good. To be home. In a bed. Where its warm!

At the moment I'm in London at Steph's. Signed the contract to our (hopefully) new apartment!! Am so excited! Its so beautiful that I just want to move in straight away!! The landlord has to sign the contract to finalize it, but we're so close! There are two other bidders so fingers crossed! But I'm not stressing, usually they try to rush it a bit anyway to get the deal sorted as soon as possible.

Tomorrow I'm meeting a guy to discuss a bit of work when I move here, so hopefully that will go well!!

But now, a bit of fun time with the girls.. (not as it sounds!)

so talk to you later!!

Good bye Saatchi&Saatchi.. for now!

Unfortunatley I didn't make the second last round of the Saatchi & Saatchi competition!! Gutted, but glad I got as far as I did! Life moves on, and I'm sure pop round Saatchi's doorstep some time again in the future! It was fun while it lasted!

Telling Tales: Showing off your greatness by highlighting your warts

Homemain01Recently, a friend told me the story of a guy who wanted to sell his sports car. He shot some great photos of the car that really showed off its beauty and ran ads on Craigslist, eBay, and other auto classified sites. But no one was interested.
Then, he photographed some close-up shots, highlighting any imperfection he could find on the car--no matter how small. He photographed every smudge, ding or scratch.
The car sold the next day.
When asked what attracted the buyer to make the purchase, he said, "I felt I knew what I was getting--a car that was close to perfect, but no quite. You showed me an honest depiction of the car. I trusted you."
The story reminds me of how important it is for brands to present themselves in an authentic, honest way. Sometimes showing your warts can attract people, and allow them to see your greatness.

Cadbury's new ad for Dairy Milk

Fallon has produced another cool ad for "glass and a half " productions. It feels a bit different to the Gorilla and Eyebrow ad, but its still innovative and works nicely!

Adidas originals ad

Up to beat, fun party ad. What I miss??

Just beat it!

Deserted house

Built in the early 1900s, its got a really cool retro and colourful style. A old couple used to live there, but after they passed away its been pretty much deserted. Though the furniture is still there! Would never want to live there, but it felt like a really cool place to stay in for a while and admire. Inspirational.

Inside the conservatory, I even found a newspaper from 1942!! The front page was an article about the russians and the world war. Pretty cool!!

Photoshoot with friends

My friends own snakes and have tattoos. So I thought that would be an excuse to practise my photography a bit.

What do you think?

The last remaining days in Sweden I spent at the countryside... tried building a bird house(?) but that didn't go too well...

so I climbed a few trees instead...

And took some photos too :)

Like reading anyone?

During my time in Sweden, I found a book in my sister's room which I found really interesting. It's translated as 'Married to a bediun'. Its a true story where the author writes about her holiday changed her life. Margarette, who is from New Zealand, married a beduin and moved into a cave where she raised two children.

Another book that was really fun and easy to read is the one below. Its called '96 novels for those who still are in a rush'. It pretty much simplifies a whole book into four comic strips!

Multitasking? Simple!

Whoever said that men can't do more than one thing at the time is now to be proven wrong. A guy from Croatia plays a catchy song, and shows, that multitasking is possible!

BBC Blast

Ad by Fallon.

Fun commercial. Something I could see my friends and I doing as a joke..

Sanna's 22nd b-day

Yesterday some friends and I went to celebrate our friend Sanna's 22nd birthday. We had a nice meal, some pre drinks at her house and then went for a night out.

I was supposed to make her a fun birthday card, but when I had started drawing on photoshop I thought it would be more fun with an animated card. And once I get my mind on something, I just have to make it! So here's what it looked like! Its in Swedish, but you get the idea :)

Happy Easter!

Hope everyone is enjoying easter!

V.ery I.mportant P.uppy!

Vip is my baby Collie! Not a baby really, shes 11 years old. She doesn't look or act it though, so in my eyes shes still like a puppy! I've had her since I was 10, (after nagging my mum for about 3 years). She finally gave up her excuse of being allergic and hence: Vippy!

Happy dog!

I've realised that Vip and I have pretty much the same personalities! She acts the same as me, walks the same. The only difference is that I'm not ginger!

Mum treated me to a pair of shoes that I fell in love with as soon as I saw them! She said "Since you've been such a hard working student.." hehe she's sweet! They're from H&M...

Brief 3, DONE!

Since I've been home, I've mainly been spending my time on the 'Saatchi recruiting' brief no 3, to recreate a TV advert and make a 90 sec presentation about it. I was struggling a bit, as it was intended that I was to make it in England. When I got home, I filmed with my mum's camera, which is probably about 10 years old! It filmed fine, but putting in into the computer was a nightmare. I gave up after about 6 hours.

In a stress, I went to the shop to find a really cheap camera. Which I did. A really good camera as well! They were clearing out the store, and the camera I bought was the last in stock. Now, my savings account is looking really empty, but what won't I do for advertising eh?

Its really small! and cute :)

Anyway, the deadline for the Saatchi & Saatchi brief was yesterday, so I feel relieved to be finished. Out of 260 people, it seems only 143 people made videos. Better chance for me then, so I won't complain! 50 people will get through, so I have 1 in 3 chance.. Wish me good luck!! Here is the video so you can see what I've made :)

Now I have to wait eagerly for the results!! In the meantime, I'm going to work on some briefs for uni!
